Eolia Mansion in Waterford, Connecticut is a natural favorite when anyone requests an engagement session. Its historic architecture, sprawling gardens, and large property has so much to offer.
Located within Harkness Memorial State Park, Eolia Mansion offers an incredible variety of backdrops all within walking distance. For Meghan and Chris’ session, we were able to capture so many different looks without ever leaving the property.

The elegant stone mansion provided a timeless and sophisticated setting, while the ivy-covered pergolas added a touch of old-world romance. Everywhere we turned, there was another beautiful location waiting for us.
The grounds were bursting with summer greenery, creating a soft and romantic atmosphere that perfectly complemented Meghan and Chris’ style.

One of my favorite parts of the session was photographing Meghan and Chris among the blooming gardens. The soft lavender flowers and manicured pathways created such a dreamy backdrop. The gardens at Eolia Mansion always photograph beautifully, especially during the summer months when everything is in full bloom.
As the evening progressed, the light became softer and softer, wrapping the entire property in a warm glow. These quieter moments allowed Meghan and Chris to simply enjoy being together while I documented their connection naturally.

Of course, no engagement session at Eolia Mansion is complete without taking advantage of golden hour, especially on Harkness’ beach.
As the sun dipped lower in the sky, we wandered through some of the property’s scenic garden areas where the light filtered beautifully through the trees. The warm sunset glow created the most romantic atmosphere and gave their images that timeless, airy feel that I love so much.

Spending the evening with Meghan and Chris made me even more excited for everything ahead of them. They are the kind of couple who make being together look effortless, and their joy is truly contagious.
Their Eolia Mansion engagement session was filled with beautiful scenery, perfect summer weather, and so many genuine moments. I can’t wait to celebrate alongside them on their wedding day and capture the next chapter of their story.
If you’re recently engaged and searching for a location that combines historic elegance, stunning gardens, and incredible sunset views, Eolia Mansion is truly one of Connecticut’s most beautiful engagement session locations.

Katie and Sangjoon’s Delamar Greenwich Wedding was unforgettable. Yes, they had a stunning reception design (the bride’s vision come true!) and a beautiful June day. But, more importantly, they had love and genuine care for one another and every single person that showed up for them. That’s something that can’t be fabricated on any day. […]
