A Greek Orthodox Wedding and Tyde at Walnut Beach Wedding Photos

The sky was clear, the air was perfect, and the sun sparkled over the water all day long. It was the kind of weather every couple dreams of for their wedding. Lauren and Jake lucked out with every single bit of it.

These two are truly incredible. They’re a beautiful couple, but more than that, they’re just genuinely happy. They were smiling nonstop from the first photo to the last, and that kind of joy makes my job the most fun in the world.

Getting Ready by the Beach

One of my favorite things about Tyde at Walnut Beach is that it sits right on the sand. Lauren and her girls started the day getting ready at the venue, with ocean views just outside the windows and natural light pouring in. Meanwhile, Jake and the guys got ready at a nearby hotel, keeping things relaxed before the big moment. It’s worth pointing out that Tyde has a fantastic groom’s suite that can be used for photos as well!

A Greek Orthodox Wedding Ceremony at St. Barbara’s

Lauren and Jake were married in a Greek Orthodox ceremony at St. Barbara Greek Orthodox Church in Orange, Connecticut, with Father Peter officiating. I’ll be honest: Greek Orthodox weddings are always my favorite to photograph. As a Greek Orthodox photographer, I know the service by heart. I know exactly what’s coming next, from the exchange of the rings to the crowning with the stefana to the Dance of Isaiah, so I’m always in the right spot at the right moment without ever getting in the way of the sacrament.

After the ceremony, we gathered everyone for a few group photos at the church before heading to Milford.

Wedding Party, Family Photos and Portraits at Tyde at Walnut Beach

Back at Tyde, we made the most of that dreamy weather. We started with the wedding party, then family photos, and then I stole Lauren and Jake away for portraits. Between the beach, the water and the soft coastal light, Tyde at Walnut Beach is an absolute dream for wedding photos, and these two made it effortless.

A Reception That Kept Everyone Dancing

Then it was time to celebrate! Lauren and Jake brought in The Zoo, and they were electric. The band had such a fun, inviting energy that got absolutely everyone on their feet and getting rowdy on the dance floor. When the band wrapped up, DJ Nova kept the party going late into the night.
