Some wedding days are so smooth from beginning to end, and Sophie and John’s celebration was exactly that. Their Saint Clements Castle Wedding was filled with beautiful, tearful moments, and so much love from family and friends. Every part of their day reflected who they are as a couple. Their family spoke so highly about their love for one another, and their wedding party had the best energy EVER!

Nestled along the Connecticut River, Saint Clements Castle provided the perfect backdrop for their elegant summer wedding. The venue’s manicured gardens, historic architecture, and waterfront views created endless opportunities for beautiful portraits and unforgettable memories. The morning began with thoughtful details and excitement as Sophie prepared for the day ahead. Her bridal details featured soft blush tones, delicate florals, personalized vow books, and elegant accessories that perfectly complemented the romantic aesthetic of the wedding. My absolute favorite part was when one of her bridesmaids walked in with an entire Home Depot bucket filled with floral stems for me to use. I always instruct couples to have individual florals for me to use in flat lays, and Sophie’s crew had the most perfect flowers ever!
Sophie chose a classic off-the-shoulder gown which converted into strapless for the reception. It had beautiful lace detailing and she paired it with a flowing veil that photographed beautifully throughout the day. Every detail felt intentional and timeless. And, of course, the pop of pink was perfect! Her shoes were from Kendall Louise and were the perfect addition to her look.

One of the most touching moments of the day was John’s reaction as he waited to see Sophie while she walked down the aisle. The anticipation, excitement, and emotion on his face perfectly captured what makes wedding days so special. He teared up immediately and we ALL bawled (wedding party especially!)

One of the many reasons couples love Saint Clements Castle is the incredible variety of portrait locations available on the property. Sophie and John took advantage of the lush gardens, elegant stonework, and scenic grounds for portraits that felt both romantic and classic. They also have multiple gardens that can be used if the lighting is just right!

The floral design by Kellie Rose Florals added softness and romance throughout the day. Featuring lush blooms in soft neutral and blush tones, the arrangements complemented both the castle setting and Sophie’s timeless bridal style.
Every floral detail enhanced the elegant atmosphere while still feeling fresh and organic. I always love pink as an accent color because it fits in so perfectly with florals and the outdoor greenery!

After the ceremony, guests gathered inside the Waterford Ballroom. Sophie and John made a memorable entrance to their reception before spending the evening surrounded by the people who love them most.
One of my favorite moments was the toasts. They were short and sweet, but delivered by multiple wedding party and family members. It was such a joy to hear everyone talk so highly about the couple. The energy in the room was contagious, which was the perfect ending to an already incredible day.

Saint Clements Castle continues to be one of Connecticut’s most beloved wedding venues for good reason. The combination of historic charm, stunning grounds, waterfront views, and exceptional service creates an experience that feels both elegant and welcoming.
Whether you’re envisioning a grand celebration or an intimate gathering, a Saint Clements Castle Wedding offers countless opportunities for beautiful photographs and unforgettable memories.
