One of the things that made their Litchfield Inn wedding so special was having nearly everything they needed in one place. From getting ready to their portraits, ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception, the entire day flowed seamlessly throughout the property. The staff were wonderful to work with, and having such a beautiful venue as the backdrop made the logistics of the day that much easier.

Olivia and Matthew both got ready at the Inn. Olivia got ready in the bridal suite, which was FULL of natural light. She got ready with mom and then did a reveal with dad, her brothers, and her bridesmaids. Matt got ready with his guys and took some classic portraits in the library and gathering room. Then, they shared a private first look. It was such a sweet, intentional moment for the two of them to have before the rest of the day officially began.
After their first look, we took full advantage of the time we had before the ceremony. We photographed all of their portraits and nearly all of their family photos ahead of time, which meant they were able to enjoy so much more of their cocktail hour later in the day.
And for a bride like Olivia who was incredibly organized and prepared, I think having a plan that allowed us to get so much accomplished before the ceremony was a pretty perfect fit.

Olivia and Matt wanted a focus on candid poses with their bridal party, so I did a mix of prompts that would get everyone moving, laughing, and genuinely having a great time. That is what makes for the best photos, after all!

The ceremony was bright, sunny, and beautiful. After all of the preparation that went into the day, Olivia and Matthew finally got to slow down and focus on the reason they were all there: getting married.

The flowers truly stole the spotlight in the best way. We were OBSESSED with them. They were so organic, colorful, and perfect for what Olivia and Matt envisioned.
And then it was time to celebrate!
From there, everyone made their way into the ballroom for the reception. After spending so much of the day outside, the ballroom was the perfect place to transition into dinner, dancing, and the rest of the evening’s festivities.
Let’s talk about the reception design…it was PERFECT!! The colors, the fruits, the table setup, the seating chart, the live band, it couldn’t have turned out better. I couldn’t help but grab a million photos of everything.

Olivia and Matthew’s wedding was such a wonderful reminder that thoughtful planning can make a huge difference on your wedding day. Because they had so much of the day mapped out ahead of time—and because the Litchfield Inn made it possible to keep everything close together—we were able to create space for portraits, family photos, moments together, and plenty of time to actually enjoy the day.
And that is exactly what your wedding day should be.
