Emily and Chris’s Glen Manor House wedding was the perfect celebration of a beautiful New England summer day. When you think of New England manor elegance, Glen Manor House should be the first venue on your lips.

Nestled along the water in Portsmouth, Rhode Island, Glen Manor House offers timeless elegance, stunning gardens, and breathtaking views that make it one of my favorite venues to photograph. I started the day off with flat lays at the Sonesta Select Newport Middletown hotel, only 15 minutes from Glen Manor, which allowed us to get started on details before we could enter the venue.

From the moment I arrived at the venue, everything about the day flowed seamlessly. The team from Russell Morin Catering was incredible to work with and kept the day running perfectly on schedule. Having a strong vendor team makes such a difference, and their professionalism helped create a relaxed experience for everyone involved.

One of the biggest pieces of advice I give couples planning a Glen Manor House wedding is to work on the photography timeline well in advance. Glen Manor has specific restrictions regarding when vendors and wedding parties can enter the property, so creating a thoughtful timeline early is essential. As a photographer who has worked at Glen Manor House before, I know the flow of the venue and how to structure the day to maximize portrait time while keeping everything stress-free. I always work on timelines with my couples months ahead of their wedding to ensure that they know how the day will flow.

Another tip I always recommend is for the bride to arrive either ready to step into her dress or already dressed when possible. Because access to the venue is limited until a certain time, minimizing getting-ready activities on-site allows us to spend more time creating beautiful portraits throughout the property. The gardens, waterfront views, and historic architecture provide countless opportunities for stunning photographs, and having extra portrait time is always worth it. The photos of Emily from their Glen Manor wedding just go to show how worth it it is to have that time!

Emily and Chris fully embraced the beauty of the venue, and their portraits were some of my favorites of the season. I absolutely love Glen Manor House because you get a little bit of everything. Not only is the manor stunning and speaks for itself, but the gardens are beautiful for portraits, and the waterfront views make you feel like you’re in your own oasis!

If you’re planning a Glen Manor House wedding, partnering with experienced vendors and creating a timeline tailored to the venue can make all the difference in ensuring a smooth, enjoyable, and beautifully documented wedding day. Some wedding days are memorable for the details, some for the weather, and some for the incredible people surrounding the couple. Jacquie and Thomas’s Anthony’s Ocean View Wedding had all three. The day began at St. Mary’s Church in New Haven, where the couple exchanged vows surrounded by hundreds of family members and friends. The […]

I don’t get to photograph in Litchfield, Connecticut often, but when I do it is absolutely a treat! There’s something especially magical about spring evenings in Connecticut, and Lois and George’s Topsmead State Park engagement photos captured that feeling perfectly. From the soft golden light to the dreamy New England scenery, their session felt straight […]

There’s something undeniably romantic about a rainy wedding day, and Natalie and Tom’s celebration at Hill-Stead Museum was the perfect example of making the most of every moment. Despite the weather, their day felt elegant, joyful, and incredibly intimate from beginning to end. Natalie started the day by getting ready at the Simsbury 1820 house, […]

This was my first time photographing a family session at Sherwood Island State Park in Westport, Connecticut, and it definitely won’t be my last! Between the peaceful shoreline, tall beach grass, and tree-lined areas throughout the park, it truly offers the best of both worlds for family photos. Samantha, David, and their sweet son Evan […]

A Beautiful Evening for Trinity College Grad Photos I absolutely love the excitement of graduation season. There are celebrations, looking forward to what is next, and the chance to document an incredibly meaningful milestone for graduates. There’s something timeless about springtime in Boston, and Julia and Brandon’s session was the perfect reminder of why I love photographing couples here so much. Their spring Boston Public Garden engagement photos felt straight out of a movie — blooming trees, soft sunlight, the city skyline in the background. We opted for an early morning […]

When Abby reached out for her grad photos at Quinnipiac Law School, I was SO excited. I don’t often get the chance to do grad school graduation photos, so this was such a special treat. Abby showed up in a stunning long white dress (with a pink suit on deck) and we got right into […]

Miranda and Mitch’s Aldworth Manor wedding was nothing short of perfect. For an April wedding in New England, they truly couldn’t have asked for better weather. For their getting ready photos, Mitch was in the library in the manor and Miranda was in the oval room. This was my first time photographing at Aldworth, and […]

Sydney first reached out just days after getting engaged, and you could feel the excitement in every word of her message. Their proposal had been intimate and private, so capturing this season of their lives in a meaningful way felt especially important. From the moment she reached out, I was already so excited to capture […]
