There’s something incredibly special about photographing families in a place that feels both peaceful and full of life, and Gouveia Vineyards in Wallingford is exactly that. Nestled on rolling hills with sweeping views of the Connecticut landscape, it’s one of my favorite locations for relaxed, meaningful family sessions. As a Wallingford family photographer, I’m always looking for locations that allow families to be fully present with one another — and this vineyard does just that.

This particular family session at Gouveia Vineyards was the perfect blend of playful and heartfelt. From the moment we arrived, the kids had space to explore, laugh, and just be themselves, while parents could slow down and soak in these fleeting moments. The vineyard’s open fields, stone walls, and rows of vines create a timeless backdrop that photographs beautifully in every season. Golden hour at Gouveia is especially stunning, with soft light that wraps around families and adds a warm, natural glow to every image.
One of the reasons I love photographing families here is how effortlessly the setting encourages connection. There’s no pressure to pose perfectly—just room to walk, talk, cuddle, and laugh together. Some of my favorite images from this session came from in-between moments: a parent brushing hair out of their child’s face, siblings holding hands as they walked through the vines, quiet giggles shared during a break from running around. These are the moments that tell a family’s real story.

As a Wallingford family photographer, my goal is always to create images that feel true to who each family is. I don’t like to have families feeling stiff or overly posed, which is why I add in guidance for tons of candid moments during your session. Gouveia Vineyards is the perfect backdrop with their grass, greenery, trees, and vineyard backdrops. If you’re looking for a family session that feels natural, joyful, and deeply meaningful, this location is a beautiful choice.

If you’re searching for a Wallingford family photographer and dreaming of photos that capture your family just as you are in this season of life, I’d love to help you plan a session at Gouveia Vineyards. Family photos are memories that you’lll look back on years from now.
There’s something undeniably romantic about a rainy wedding day, and Natalie and Tom’s celebration at Hill-Stead Museum was the perfect example of making the most of every moment. Despite the weather, their day felt elegant, joyful, and incredibly intimate from beginning to end. Natalie started the day by getting ready at the Simsbury 1820 house, […]

This was my first time photographing a family session at Sherwood Island State Park in Westport, Connecticut, and it definitely won’t be my last! Between the peaceful shoreline, tall beach grass, and tree-lined areas throughout the park, it truly offers the best of both worlds for family photos. Samantha, David, and their sweet son Evan […]

A Beautiful Evening for Trinity College Grad Photos I absolutely love the excitement of graduation season. There are celebrations, looking forward to what is next, and the chance to document an incredibly meaningful milestone for graduates. Sophia’s Trinity College grad photos were the perfect reminder of why I love senior and graduate portrait sessions so […]

There’s something timeless about springtime in Boston, and Julia and Brandon’s session was the perfect reminder of why I love photographing couples here so much. Their spring Boston Public Garden engagement photos felt straight out of a movie — blooming trees, soft sunlight, the city skyline in the background. We opted for an early morning […]

When Abby reached out for her grad photos at Quinnipiac Law School, I was SO excited. I don’t often get the chance to do grad school graduation photos, so this was such a special treat. Abby showed up in a stunning long white dress (with a pink suit on deck) and we got right into […]

Miranda and Mitch’s Aldworth Manor wedding was nothing short of perfect. For an April wedding in New England, they truly couldn’t have asked for better weather. For their getting ready photos, Mitch was in the library in the manor and Miranda was in the oval room. This was my first time photographing at Aldworth, and […]

Sydney first reached out just days after getting engaged, and you could feel the excitement in every word of her message. Their proposal had been intimate and private, so capturing this season of their lives in a meaningful way felt especially important. From the moment she reached out, I was already so excited to capture […]

Branding photos are one of the most powerful ways that business owners can show the personality behind their work. I had the joy of photographing branding photos for calligrapher and stationery artist Carissa Marie Calligraphy, and the session perfectly captured the elevated yet approachable feel of her brand. We photographed the session at the beautiful […]

Meghan and Ross’ wedding day at The Country Club of Farmington was absolutely beautiful — one of those days that feels impossible to fully put into words. From the moment I met Meg and Ross, I could tell their wedding was going to be something special. Not just because of their stunning details, but because […]
