Graduation Photos at Sacred Heart University
When we scheduled Katie’s graduation photo session at Sacred Heart University, we were crossing our fingers for golden hour sunshine. But instead, the forecast gave us rain—and lots of it. Rather than rescheduling, Katie decided to go for it, and I’m so glad she did.
Because what we got was magic.
Rainy day sessions always have a little extra sparkle. There’s something cinematic and romantic about moody skies, shiny walkways, and the way light bounces off everything. Katie showed up in her cap, gown, and the best attitude—ready to celebrate her huge achievement, no matter the weather.
Luckily, SHU has the perfect campus to photograph senior sessions on, even when it rains. With all the overhang areas near the arches and the chapel, there are ample options to take photos while staying dry!
To every SHU grad: don’t be afraid of the weather. If you’re up for it, rain can add so much mood and meaning to your photos. Katie’s session is proof that even the grayest days can turn into some of the brightest memories.
