A few weeks ago, I had the pleasure of photographing a lovely couple at Harkness Memorial State Park, one of my favorite spots in Connecticut. This park, with its expansive gardens, historic mansion, and stunning views of the Long Island Sound, provided the perfect varying backdrops for the photoshoot.
When capturing a couple, I always strive to focus on more than just the posed moments. Instead, I seek to tell a story through their emotions, finding the balance between the couple and their surroundings. This is why movement and genuine interactions are key elements in my sessions—I want to capture the real moments, the unguarded laughter, and the shared smiles that reflect their unique connection.
At Harkness, we were blessed with gorgeous weather, and the couple’s natural chemistry made my job easy. As they walked hand-in-hand through the gardens, the sunlight peeked through the trees, creating a soft, romantic glow around them. They laughed, whispered to each other, and enjoyed every moment together, allowing me to capture their love in its purest form.
These are the moments I live for as a photographer—those split seconds where everything comes together perfectly, where the couple’s emotions are in harmony with the natural beauty around them.
