Looking to document an important milestone, create family memories, or simply take advantage of a beautiful day to grab some photos on your phone? Look no further.
Through years of searching and exploring, I have had the pleasure of finding some fantastic hidden gems. I have compiled a list of my top favorite locations around Connecticut for your next photoshoot!
Edgerton Park
New Haven, CT
When I walked into this park for the first time, I swear that I entered a wonderland! This park was filled with varying trees, bushes, and beautiful staircases that created absolutely breathtaking photo spots.
Southford Falls State Park
Southbury, CT
These falls are located directly next to the parking lot and are accompanied by a small pond, benches, rocks, and paths -- tons of different backgrounds for a shoot!
Gouveia Vineyards
Wallingford, CT
Just as anticipated, this vineyard is...well...beautiful! The views from the parking lot are honestly astonishing, and there is lots of land to explore.
Silver Sands State Park
Milford, CT
A fan favorite, beaches are an iconic place to take photos. Luckily, Silver Sands State Park is a beautiful location for taking pictures! If you have time, stop in Downtown Milford near the train station to capture even more photos at the beautiful mini waterfall and bridge.
The Graduate Hotel
New Haven, CT
When my clients asked if we could photograph inside the Graduate Hotel & Poindexter Coffee, I was obsessed. While there is a photography fee for photographing inside, the staff is incredibly accommodating and the space is beautiful.
Elizabeth Park
West Hartford, CT
When I first visited Elizabeth Park, it wasn't even in full bloom. At the right time, this park has the perfect mix of greenery and florals that you need in your next shoot. Otherwise, the arches, staircases, and random spots are still the absolute perfect backdrop.
Please note that permit and insurance fees are added on to do a session here.
Wadsworth Falls state park
Middletown, CT
Another beautiful waterfall location, this is an extremely short walk from the parking lot -- walk through the front grass lot and you're there! The falls are HUGE, and there are trails surrounding, providing the perfect mix of waterfall and woodsy backdrops.
Yale Campus
New Haven, CT
The beautiful architecture and greenery around Yale's downtown New Haven campus makes for the perfect backdrop for family portraits and more!
Enders Falls
granby, ct
A new top-of-list favorite, this beautiful spot contains multiple cascading waterfalls within a short walk (1/4 mile) of the parking lot!
Lovers leap State Park
New Milford, CT
As you can see, I drove here just for the bridge -- this bright red beauty is located a short walk from the parking lot and is the perfect spot to grab editorial-looking or couple photos!
Sleeping Giant State Park
Hamden, CT
If you're up for a hike, head up the Blue Trail in Sleeping Giant State Park. The views and photo opportunities here are endless! Otherwise, stay at the bottom (no hike required) and snap some beautiful photos at the entrance to the trail or in front of the beautiful backdrop of trees!
Anchor Beach
Milford, CT
This beach is a small but hidden oasis for some beautiful summer portraits or an engagement shoot! An array of spots – sand, water, rocks, walkways, and more – makes the perfect backdrop for any occasion.
