Tip No. 1

Windows, windows, and more windows.

There are some super easy ways to ensure that your getting ready photos (specifically) look the best that they can. These are the fun portraits at the beginning of the day where we have a bit more control over the surroundings and photo atmosphere!

My number one tip to brides that I talk about all the time is to ensure that there are unobstructed windows or doors with lots of natural light in the getting-ready space. This will make a HUGE difference in your photos.

Tip No. 2

Lower your bouquet!

No matter how many times I repeat this, it is always forgotten! You never know how crucial it is to hold your bouquet lower when walking down the aisle until you see the photos.

Holding your flowers at a distance where your arms are ever so slightly bent is perfect. Slightly tilt the top of the bouquet outwards so the stems are hidden to the camera!

Tip No. 3

Fluff the train

For your maid of honor – make sure you fluff the train! That elegant dress is meant to shine, and simple fixes like this can totally level up your appearance walking down the aisle.

Tip No. 4

Slow down.

This is your WEDDING DAY! Take a moment to slow down, breathe, and realize the amazing blessing that is occurring.

More literally, also SLOW. DOWN. When walking down the aisle, walk even SLOWER than you think you should. This goes for all of the bridal party, too! No one likes how walking rushed can impact how the photos look afterwards.

Tip No. 5

Extra 15 minutes

No matter what, your timeline will probably get behind – especially in the beginning of the day. Even if you think you've carved out enough time for everything,

I advise my brides to add in an extra 15 minutes to the most important parts of their timeline, if possible. If not, I advise them to at least add an extra 15 minutes to the getting ready part of the day – you'll be thankful for it!
