If you’re planning a Woodwinds wedding in Branford, CT, Magdalene and Trey’s day is the perfect inspiration. Their wedding was a beautiful mix of family, tradition, and joy that started off with a Greek Orthodox ceremony at Saint Barbara and continued into an energetic and dance-filled reception at The Woodwinds.
Their day began, of course, with flat lays! Magdalene had all of their details set perfectly aside and we got right to styling. She had an heirloom necklace that she wanted extra photos of, so I made sure to grab macro photographs of it for her to cherish.

After flat lays, the ladies finished up their hair and makeup and we got right into some fun pj and champagne photos. Magdalene and her crew spent some time outside toasting with one another. Her mother even shared some loving words before popping open the champagne.
After that, we headed inside so that Magdalene could begin getting ready. She wore the most stunning strapless gown that had beautiful pleated detailing along the chest. She also shared a special first look moment with her father. We were all crying!

Meanwhile, Trey was getting ready at a nearby hotel. When we have bridal parties getting ready in hotels, we often try to take them outside to grab some beautiful, spacious, naturally lit portraits. This allows for less of a “corporate” or outdated feel to the photos and really livens them up.
Next, the bridal party stunned for photos! Their smiles were truly contagious.

And, of course, onto the most enchanting part of the day: the ceremony. Magdalene is Greek Orthodox, so they tied the knot at Saint Barbara Greek Orthodox Church in Orange, Connecticut. St. Barbara will always be one of my favorite churches to photograph in. The iconography is beautifully written everywhere in the church, and it is simply breathtaking.

Once they shared their first kiss, they were off to The Woodwinds for their cocktail hour and reception. We took some time to do family photos and then hopped right into couples portraits. The Woodwinds has a manicured property that is really beautiful for sunset portraits. The sun peeks through the clouds perfectly, making The Woodwinds such a beautiful wedding spot.

Their reception details were simple, classic, and elegant. The white and green florals were the perfect touch for each table, and their cake was tall and incredible!

Magdalene and Trey were out on the dance floor immediately. They had the sweetest first dance and could not stop smiling at one another. You could truly feel the love that they shared for each other.

Their parent dances were just as perfect. Magdalene and her dad were laughing together, enjoying every moment, and Trey got emotional dancing with his mom. Picture-perfect moments!
The evening rounded off with some speeches from family and bridal party members, champagne toasts, dinner, and tons of dancing. And LOTS of Greek dancing, of course!

This was my first time photographing a family session at Sherwood Island State Park in Westport, Connecticut, and it definitely won’t be my last! Between the peaceful shoreline, tall beach grass, and tree-lined areas throughout the park, it truly offers the best of both worlds for family photos. Samantha, David, and their sweet son Evan […]

A Beautiful Evening for Trinity College Grad Photos I absolutely love the excitement of graduation season. There are celebrations, looking forward to what is next, and the chance to document an incredibly meaningful milestone for graduates. Sophia’s Trinity College grad photos were the perfect reminder of why I love senior and graduate portrait sessions so […]

There’s something timeless about springtime in Boston, and Julia and Brandon’s session was the perfect reminder of why I love photographing couples here so much. Their spring Boston Public Garden engagement photos felt straight out of a movie — blooming trees, soft sunlight, the city skyline in the background. We opted for an early morning […]

When Abby reached out for her grad photos at Quinnipiac Law School, I was SO excited. I don’t often get the chance to do grad school graduation photos, so this was such a special treat. Abby showed up in a stunning long white dress (with a pink suit on deck) and we got right into […]

Miranda and Mitch’s Aldworth Manor wedding was nothing short of perfect. For an April wedding in New England, they truly couldn’t have asked for better weather. For their getting ready photos, Mitch was in the library in the manor and Miranda was in the oval room. This was my first time photographing at Aldworth, and […]

Sydney first reached out just days after getting engaged, and you could feel the excitement in every word of her message. Their proposal had been intimate and private, so capturing this season of their lives in a meaningful way felt especially important. From the moment she reached out, I was already so excited to capture […]

Branding photos are one of the most powerful ways that business owners can show the personality behind their work. I had the joy of photographing branding photos for calligrapher and stationery artist Carissa Marie Calligraphy, and the session perfectly captured the elevated yet approachable feel of her brand. We photographed the session at the beautiful […]

There’s something incredibly special about photographing families in a place that feels both peaceful and full of life, and Gouveia Vineyards in Wallingford is exactly that. Nestled on rolling hills with sweeping views of the Connecticut landscape, it’s one of my favorite locations for relaxed, meaningful family sessions. As a Wallingford family photographer, I’m always […]

Meghan and Ross’ wedding day at The Country Club of Farmington was absolutely beautiful — one of those days that feels impossible to fully put into words. From the moment I met Meg and Ross, I could tell their wedding was going to be something special. Not just because of their stunning details, but because […]

As a wedding photographer, I’ve had the honor of documenting dozens of Catholic wedding ceremonies over the years. Whether you’re a couple planning your own Catholic wedding or a guest attending one for the first time, understanding the flow of the ceremony can make the day feel more meaningful, and less overwhelming. Catholic weddings are […]
